The model was created by a local artist exclusively for LCR Presepi by Messi Leandro, with the movement mechanism handcrafted by Messi Leandro himself. This scene depicts an enchanting animated Nativity, featuring finely detailed and mechanized figures that recreate the realism of the sacred event. Mary, dressed in a white robe and a light blue cloak, is seated beside the cradle of Baby Jesus. With one hand, she gently rocks the cradle, while with the other she covers and uncovers the Child with a sheet, accompanying the movement with her upper body in a loving and maternal gesture. Saint Joseph, clothed in garments in earthy and green tones, holds a shepherd’s staff in one hand and a lantern in the other. He raises and lowers the lantern while bending his upper body, as if watching over and protecting the Holy Family during the night.
