My name is Leandro Messi, and if I had to say when my passion for nativity scenes began, I would not be able to give an exact date. It is something I have always carried in my heart. Ever since I was a child, I loved creating small settings and bringing the characters of the Nativity to life with my hands and imagination. Over time, what began as a simple passion turned into a true vocation, and today it is called MessiArt.

MessiArt was born in the heart of the Marche region, in Recanati, and represents not only my work, but also my way of conveying emotions, faith and beauty through the art of nativity scenes. Every nativity scene, every statue and every movement is the result of hours of craftsmanship, careful study of materials and constant attention to detail. I love bringing to life scenes that tell a story and have the power to touch the hearts of those who see them.

Over time, my work has gone beyond local boundaries and has become known outside Italy as well. My moving statues are appreciated by collectors, enthusiasts and families all over the world, thanks to a unique combination of tradition, innovation and craftsmanship.

One of the most exciting moments of my career came in 2023, when I received the first prize overall at the “Greccio 2023” competition, held to mark the anniversary of the first nativity scene created by Saint Francis. This recognition filled me with pride and gave me even greater motivation to continue along this path.



Another major achievement was the selection of one of my Nativity scenes for the “100 Nativity Scenes in the Vatican” exhibition, held beneath the colonnades of St. Peter’s Square. A TG5 television report even opened with an image of my nativity scene. But perhaps the gesture I cherish most is the letter I received in 2015 from the Vatican Secretariat of State, containing words of gratitude and encouragement from Pope Francis, to whom I had written to tell him about the tradition of the mechanised nativity scene in my parish.
