The set portrays the Three Wise Men, the traditional figures of the Nativity who, according to the Gospel, journeyed from the East to pay homage to the Infant Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Each king is richly dressed in long, finely decorated robes and wears a regal crown or headdress. The king on the right, wearing a blue and light green cloak, presents gold, symbolising Christ's kingship. The kneeling king at the centre, dressed in pink robes and with dark skin, offers frankincense, representing Christ's divinity. On the left, the king wearing a green cloak over a purple tunic carries myrrh, foreshadowing Christ's future suffering and sacrifice.
