This animated 30 cm resin scene depicts a Palestinian basket weaver seated on a wooden crate, skilfully weaving a wicker basket. The model was created by local artist Michela Nibaldi exclusively for LCR Presepi by Messi Leandro, while the movement has been personally created by Messi Leandro. The coordinated animation brings the scene to life as the craftsman's arm moves from side to side in rhythm with his work, while his head follows the same motion, realistically conveying the concentration and precision required to weave the basket. He wears traditional Palestinian clothing consisting of a long white tunic with bold black stripes, a flowing grey and cream cloak draped over his shoulders, a light-coloured traditional head covering and simple leather sandals, faithfully reflecting the attire of rural craftsmen from the region.
