Animated Traditional Fountain with Washerwoman and Child - 30 cm

This animated 30 cm resin scene depicts a traditional stone fountain, a place where everyday village life unfolds through work and leisure. The model was created by local artist Michela Nibaldi exclusively for LCR Presepi by Messi Leandro, while the movement has been personally created by Messi Leandro. The fountain is built with realistic light-coloured brickwork and decorative relief details, featuring two working copper spouts from which real water flows continuously into the basin below, thanks to the included water pump. Beside the fountain, an elderly washerwoman washes clothes with a natural, rhythmic motion as her upper body bends forwards and backwards, faithfully recreating the traditional action of scrubbing laundry on a stone washboard. She wears a simple outfit consisting of a dark striped skirt, an earth-toned tunic and a dark grey head covering, reflecting the humble traditions of everyday rural life. On the opposite side of the fountain, a child sits with his feet immersed in the cool water, alternately swinging his legs back and forth, bringing a lively and carefree touch to the composition. Dressed in a simple green tunic with a dark cloak draped over his shoulders, he observes the scene while enjoying the flowing water. A basket filled with laundry and a wooden washboard resting beside the fountain complete the setting, while the stone-effect base faithfully recreates the paving of a traditional village square. Rich in handcrafted detail, realistic movement and flowing water, this animated scene is ideal for Nativity displays and historical dioramas, bringing authenticity and the timeless atmosphere of traditional village life.
